Military to Deploy on U.S. Soil to “Assist” with Pandemic Outbreak

July 30, 2009 by: Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) Until now, what I’m about to tell you would have been easily dismissed as a conspiracy theory. It’s the kind of story that you might expect from some extreme fringe blogger… the kind of story that never appears in the mainstream media. Only today, it did. And it’s not a conspiracy theory, either.
CNN is reporting this evening that the U.S. military is gearing up to get involved in the H1N1 swine flu outbreak widely expected to strike the U.S. this fall. As CNN reports, "The U.S. military wants to establish regional teams of military personnel to assist civilian authorities in the event of a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall, according to Defense Department officials." (http://edition.cnn.com/2009/US/07/2…)
When it comes to the U.S. military, the word "assist," of course, could mean almost anything. Typically, the U.S. military offers assistance at the end of a rifle. This "assistance" could mean assisting with quarantines, assisting with rounding up infected people or assisting with arresting and imprisoning people who resist vaccine shots.
Just to make it even more interesting, this operation will include "personnel from all branches of the military" and it will involve cooperation with FEMA — the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA is the group of geniuses who handled the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. They’re the ones who confiscated firearms from law-abiding citizens defending their own homes, then thrust people into toxic temporary housing that caused neurological symptoms and breathing problems.
Internationally, FEMA is known as the Federal Emergency Laughing Stock Administration. But now, with H1N1 swine flu, FEMA will be backed by the power of highly-trained, heavily-armed military personnel.

Imagine one possible future in America…

There’s a knock on your door. A peek through the window reveals two young soldiers in urban camo fatigues gripping M16 rifles slung across their chests. In front of them, an official-looking doctor person sports an N95 mask and carries a clipboard thick with ruffled papers.
Knock knock. "Is anyone home?"
One of the soldiers catches a glimpse of you peering through a sliver of curtain covering the living room window. "I’ve got movement." He tightens his grip on his rifle and elbows the soldier next to him. "Someone’s home. Knock again."
Knock KNOCK. "We’re here from the pandemic response team," insists the doc. "We’re here to help. Open up or we’ll be forced to come in."
Reluctantly, you inch towards the door and grip the doorknob with damp, sweaty hands. Your pulse pounds hard as you crack open the door.
But the doctor isn’t in front of your door anymore. It’s one of the soldiers — the larger one — and he wedges his foot between your door and its frame, prying it open and forcing his intimidating self into your doorway. "We’re with FEMA. Please step away from the door."
"Our records show you haven’t received the swine flu vaccine yet," squeaks the doctor from behind the bulk of the domineering soldier now squarely positioned in front of you. "We’re here to administer your vaccine."
"I don’t want a vaccine," you protest. "They’re not safe."
The soldier chuckles, blurts out, "They’re as safe as the U.S. government says they are."
The doctor peers out from behind his military companion and makes eye contact. "Sir, as you well know, vaccines have been required for all U.S. residents since President Obama’s emergency pandemic declaration last month. Please extend your arm and we’ll be on our way."
He produces a syringe and stabs it into a half-filled vaccine cylinder. As he pulls the plunger and liquid races into the syringe, you realize you have mere moments to make a decision. Will you willingly accept the vaccine and avoid being beaten, arrested or shot by the two armed enforcers at your door, or will you resist and pay the consequences?
"Please extend your arm now," the doctor says. The military grunt clenches his jaw, eyeing your hesitation with obvious scorn. He fingers the safety on his rifle and clears his throat…
… what will your choice be?

We’re only here to help

That scenario might seem like fiction now, but it could unfold in America in the next few months. What seems outlandish today could become a police state reality before Christmas.
But this is no joke. These people are serious. Even the words tell too much: The order to approve all this is about to be signed by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and it’s called an "execution order."
So what, exactly, would military personnel be doing in your neighborhood in the event of a swine flu outbreak? The CNN story says they could assist with the "…testing of large numbers of viral samples from infected patients." There’s nothing in the story about rounding people up, maintaining quarantine road blocks or cremating the infected bodies of the dead. These realities of a pandemic outbreak are better left unsaid if you’re the U.S. military (or the mainstream media).
That’s why the full story of what the U.S. military is planning for will never be told to the masses. It’s too disturbing. But make no mistake: The military is planning for a worst-case scenario (that’s what the military does), and a worst-case pandemic outbreak scenario would involve gunpoint-enforced isolation, military-enforced quarantine zones and most likely the forced vaccination of nearly everyone. Those who resist the vaccinations would be arrested (or detained) and injected at gunpoint, then set free back into the population.
Hollywood has already imagined some of what might happen in such a scenario. Rent the movie The Siege (Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington) to catch an imaginative glimpse of how the U.S. military might handle things in an "emergency situation." It’s not a documentary, of course, but much of what it presents seems strangely on track with what’s shaping up if a pandemic outbreak occurs.

The very fact that the military is now leaking this story to CNN says something all by itself: The U.S. military is preparing to be stationed on U.S. soil, and whatever freedoms you mistakenly think are guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution will be long gone by the time the soldiers arrive at your door.

Ten Things You’re Not Supposed to Know about the Swine Flu Vaccine

July 28, 2009 by: Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) She was deathly afraid of the flu.
So she asked her doc what she should do.
He jabbed her unseen
With a swine flu vaccine
Blurting, "Darling, I haven’t a clue."

– by the Health Ranger

Let’s not beat around the bush on this issue: The swine flu vaccines now being prepared for mass injection into infants, children, teens and adults have never been tested and won’t be tested before the injections begin. In Europe, where flu vaccines are typically tested on hundreds (or thousands) of people before being unleashed on the masses, the European Medicines Agency is allowing companies to skip the testing process entirely.
And yet, amazingly, people are lining up to take the vaccine, absent any safety testing whatsoever. When the National Institutes of Health in the U.S. announced a swine flu vaccine trial beginning in early August, it was inundated with phone calls and emails from people desperate to play the role of human guinea pigs. The power of fear to herd sheeple into vaccine injections is simply amazing…
Back in Europe, of course, everybody gets to be a guinea pig since no testing will be done on the vaccine at all. Even worse, the European vaccines will be using adjuvants — chemicals used to multiply the potency of the active ingredients in vaccines.
Notably, there is absolutely no safety data on the use of adjuvants in infants and expectant mothers — the two groups being most aggressively targeted by the swine flu vaccine pushers. The leads us to the disturbing conclusion that the swine flu vaccine could be a modern medical disaster. It’s untested and un-tried. Its ingredients are potentially quite dangerous, and the adjuvants being used in the European vaccines are suspected of causing neurological disorders.

Paralyzed by vaccines

I probably don’t need to remind you that in 1976, a failed swine flu vaccine caused irreparable damage to the nervous systems of hundreds of people, paralyzing many. Medical doctors gave the problem a name, of course, to make it sound like they knew what they were talking about: Guillain-Barre syndrome. (Notably, they never called it "Toxic Vaccine Syndrome" because that would be too informative.)
But the fact remains that doctors never knew how the vaccines caused these severe problems, and if the same event played out today, all the doctors and vaccine pushers would undoubtedly deny any link between the vaccines and paralysis altogether. (That’s what’s happening today with the debate over vaccines and autism: Complete denial.)
In fact, there are a whole lot of things you’ll never be told by health authorities about the upcoming swine flu vaccine. For your amusement, I’ve written down the ten most obvious ones and published them below.

Ten things you’re not supposed to know about the swine flu vaccine

(At least, not by anyone in authority…)
#1 – The vaccine production was "rushed" and the vaccine has never been tested on humans. Do you like to play guinea pig for Big Pharma? If so, line up for your swine flu vaccine this fall…
#2 – Swine flu vaccines contain dangerous adjuvants that cause an inflammatory response in the body. This is why they are suspected of causing autism and other neurological disorders.
#3 – The swine flu vaccine could actually increase your risk of death from swine flu by altering (or suppressing) your immune system response. There is zero evidence that even seasonal flu shots offer any meaningful protection for people who take the jabs. Vaccines are the snake oil of modern medicine.
#4 – Doctors still don’t know why the 1976 swine flu vaccines paralyzed so many people. And that means they really have no clue whether the upcoming vaccine might cause the same devastating side effects. (And they’re not testing it, either…)
#5 – Even if the swine flu vaccine kills you, the drug companies aren’t responsible. The U.S. government has granted drug companies complete immunity against vaccine product liability. Thanks to that blanket immunity, drug companies have no incentive to make safe vaccines, because they only get paid based on quantity, not safety (zero liability).
#6 – No swine flu vaccine works as well as vitamin D to protect you from influenza. That’s an inconvenient scientific fact that the U.S. government, the FDA and Big Pharma hope the people never realize.
#7 – Even if the swine flu vaccine actually works, mathematically speaking if everyone else around you gets the vaccine, you don’t need one! (Because it can’t spread through the population you hang with.) So even if you believe in the vaccine, all you need to do is encourage your friends to go get vaccinated…
#8 – Drug companies are making billions of dollars from the production of swine flu vaccines. That money comes out of your pocket — even if you don’t get the jab — because it’s all paid by the taxpayers.
#9 – When people start dying in larger numbers from the swine flu, rest assured that many of them will be the very people who got the swine flu vaccine. Doctors will explain this away with their typical Big Pharma logic: "The number saved is far greater than the number lost." Of course, the number "saved" is entirely fictional… imaginary… and exists only in their own warped heads.
#10 – The swine flu vaccine centers that will crop up all over the world in the coming months aren’t completely useless: They will provide an easy way to identify large groups of really stupid people. (Too bad there isn’t some sort of blue dye that we could tag ’em with for future reference…)
The lottery, they say, is a tax on people who can’t do math. Similarly, flu vaccines are a tax on people who don’t understand health.

Don’t Panic! Flu Terror is a Con

Sunday July 26,2009  By Jade Sermon

THE panic over swine flu has left a bad taste in my mouth. There’s too much hype, too much scare-mongering and, for me, it has all been overblown. Why would anyone overstate the prevalence of such an illness? The answer is clear. Some individuals and some organisations benefit from scaring the living daylights out of us. So who could those individuals and organisations be?

Well, let me see, the Government and drugs giants Roche Holdings and British-based GlaxoSmithKline sure do, while the public are just left to panic. I cannot help thinking the politicians and drug makers are taking us all for a ride. I simply do not believe swine flu is going to kill 65,000 of us as Government advisers predict. I do believe getting us all in a tizz about travelling on public transport and having us all obsess about how we can get hold of Tamiflu and being first on the list for the forthcoming vaccination is simply a magnificent distraction from the real issues of the day.

I am not usually one for conspiracy theories but what it is, if you really want to know, is one big con. It is only my opinion and I have no advice for pregnant women, who were last week sent into apoplectic fear following cruel and contradictory Government advice, but I suspect many of you out there are thinking along the same lines as me and someone needs to come out and say it.

Think about it. There are two fabulous reasons why swine flu is being touted as a forthcoming Armageddon.

First, it is a great diversion from the debacle of MPs’ expenses, the recession and the abject failures of Gordon Brown’s tawdry excuse for a government. In times of panic we traditionally allow nanny, or nanny state, to take care of us, just as we do in times of joy. So creating panic and confusion is a clever political move from Brown’s point of view as it allows him a sliver of a chance of retaining his job come next summer’s general election; all hail the mighty, the munificent Brown who has saved us all from the dreaded clutches of swine flu.

Second, there’s Swiss group Roche (Tamiflu) and Glaxo (Relenza) the makers of swine flu vaccines. There’s no better way for pharmaceutical companies to get through the recession than to create a pandemic. The bigger the pandemic, the bigger the demand for their drugs and the bigger their profits.

I just wish I had bought Roche shares before the World Health Organisation panicked itself into declaring a global pandemic; they are up 25 per cent since swine flu fever first hit, while financial experts predict Glaxo will profit to the tune of £1billion from its swine flu drug sales.

The fact that the Government has announced it will indemnify Roche and Glaxo against prosecution in case the hastily produced vaccine causes nastier side- effects than expected does not exactly fill me with confidence. You will not catch me or my family rolling up our sleeves for a fast-tracked vaccination, not with girls falling ill left right and centre after the introduction of Cervarix, the HPV vaccine that many experts feel has not been given adequate testing.

And that’s not to mention the fact that we have already been here before. If you do not remember back to 1976 then let me remind you; panic broke out in America when the government predicted a swine flu epidemic after the death of one soldier.

Well, the epidemic never materialised but the fast- tracked vaccine that was injected into 46 million people resulted in litigation from those who suffered serious side-effects to the tune of £3.5billion. The vaccine was also blamed for 25 deaths. Two-thirds of the claimants suffered severe neurological damage and many were left paralysed for months, never fully recovering.

There is even a suggestion that the Government will shut all schools this autumn as that could reduce deaths by 45 per cent. What utter rot. I would not be surprised if the teachers are lobbying for that one themselves to get some extra time off. My son starts school in the autumn and if I’m forced to pay for expensive childcare to avoid taking months off work I am billing Brown and I urge you to do the same.

Even if you do get swine flu, all the real evidence suggests it will blow over in a few days unless you have underlying chronic health problems and in those circumstances even a mild bout of traditional flu can kill you.

Any death is a tragedy and the families of those people who have died from swine flu will rightly want to know what the Government is doing to protect the vulnerable. Yet that is just the point isn’t it? The vast majority of the population is healthy and quite capable of recovering.

Look at it this way, since January swine flu has claimed 429 lives worldwide, regular flu has killed 13,000 in America alone. Are you still worried now?

There is also plenty of evidence to suggest swine flu is not the end of the world. The words “swine flu” are almost never heard on American television now that the initial predictions of worldwide calamity have proved false. Perhaps they have learned from past mistakes but it is telling that a country with a population five times as large as Britain, dozens more densely populated cities and bordering Mexico where it all began, is not worried, is not panicking. Then again there are more than three years to go to the next general election so no need for President Obama to create a panic.

Conspiracy theory? Maybe I’m wrong but I am more than confident that next spring the Government will be claiming its action beat swine flu and prevented a devastating loss of life; that that huge loss of life was never going to happen in the first place will be lost in the political spin.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy, America! (Tens Reasons Why)

Saturday, July 25, 2009 by: Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) Following the publication of my story about "the new Mr. America: Bankrupt, Diseased and Running Out of Options," we received a number of complaints from some readers who thought the story was too dark. It’s just "too negative" to talk about the actual financial numbers in the U.S. budget, it seems. Who really cares about all that accounting, anyway? (Congress obviously doesn’t…) What Americans really want is more happy talk!
Keep it positive. Stay upbeat. Talk about the good news!

I think that’s a great idea, actually. So this weekend, I’m publishing ten pieces of good news about America’s future, based on the very same financial numbers contained in my "dark" story (actually, a factual report of America’s financial demise) published yesterday (http://www.naturalnews.com/026693_d…).
So for those who want to be happy, here’s a list of the top ten things that are really positive about America’s future!

The top ten good news things about America’s future

Good News Item #1) When the stuff hits the fan, Americans will awaken from their slumber and remember their roots! Americans eventually do the right thing, after all, but only after trying every other alternative first. The spirit of ingenuity and self-reliance hasn’t been snuffed out of American culture; it’s just been buried under a torrent of bureaucratic stupidity. When Big Government goes broke and Americans are forced to rely on themselves, their neighbors and their communities for support, they will rediscover the same spirit of resourcefulness that once made America great (and can make it great again, under new management).
Good News Item #2) Your health is in your hands. You have near-total control over your own health. You don’t have to wait for some government to mandate a new system of forced health care coverage at rip off prices. You can create your own health care plan right now by changing your diet, boosting your exercise and upgrading your lifestyle.
Good News Item #3) Gold, land and food will always be worth something. Wondering where to put a few dollars to protect them from the coming changes? Gold, land and food will always be worth something. These things have value that persists regardless of systems of currency or debt. (Hint: If you don’t own gold, land or food, you might want to reposition your assets in the near future…)
Good News Item #4) When the U.S. government goes bankrupt, so will the FDA! And that means an end to the tyranny and oppression against the natural health industry. Remember this: U.S. government employees are but one paycheck away from disloyalty. There’s a whole universe of knowledge about natural remedies just bursting to emerge once the heavy hand of oppression is lifted.
Good News Item #5) When the U.S. currency suffers hyperinflation and becomes worthless, it will remind people of what’s really important in life: Health, family, a roof over your head and a piece of land with a garden on it. All the jobless Americans will have more time with their families! (This is not said in satire. I’m serious about this. Less time working and more time with family improves quality of life.) Besides… since when did working more hours ever make anyone happier?
Good News Item #6) The financial demise of the U.S. government will bring down Big Pharma, too, resulting in a new age of natural health remedies becoming more readily available across North America. Why is this the case? Because Big Pharma relies primarily on government revenues to stay in business, and once Big Government goes broke, Big Pharma will have no easy way to extract revenues directly from the people. They only get away with it now because they can lobby Washington to steal taxpayers’ dollars and transfer them to drug companies.
Good News Item #7) America’s military imperialism will soon end. Why? Because America can’t afford it. Paying to send soldiers, tanks and bombs to other countries costs a fortune, after all. When the U.S. military stops paying soldiers, we will have an outbreak of sudden peace.
Good News Item #8) The age of complacency in America is coming to an end, too. Those who are complacent will not do well in the coming economic, cultural and political turmoil. They will be forced to adapt and learn new skills. People who are adaptable, self-reliant and determined will find plenty of success in the Next Society that follows the fall of America.
Good News Item #9) Mother Nature will prevail. Whatever humanity throws at Mother Nature — through pollution, species extinction, climate change or deforestation — nature will eventually recover and regain its health (with or without humans).
Good News Item #10) You have more options than you think! You are not stuck in any particular job or health status. You can change your circumstances by making new, better decisions. You have the resources within you to set a new course for the rest of your life.
BONUS Good News Item #11) As long as you can read this, there is still hope for freedom! As long as you can still reach "freedom" websites (even ones you don’t agree with) like NaturalNews, Rense.com, Alex Jones or other similar sites, there’s still a glimmer of hope for true freedom. The internet, of course, remains the last bastion of free thinking in modern society. Help keep it free, and you’ll help protect the tools of communication that can let freedom ring throughout the world. (This is one reason to oppose so-called "hate crime" laws, by the way. The purpose of hate crime laws is to outlaw any non-conforming speech by categorizing it as "hate.")
So you see, there’s actually a whole lot of good news in America. It’s not as dark as you might think. Unless, of course, you believe national debts don’t matter, or that your government will save you, or that socialized health care will solve your personal health problems. People who believe those things will find those beliefs rudely shattered. For them, the future may be quite dark, indeed.

But for those who have a grip on reality, the future looks very bright! The future, after all, is what we make of it, and those with the brightest minds and the deepest determination hold most of the power in shaping our collective future.

And the best way to have a bright future is to accept the reality of what’s coming and then prepare for a more challenging future ahead. By preparing for big changes, you turn a potentially negative situation into a positive opportunity. So, you see, even bad news can be good news… especially if you deal with it instead of ignoring it.

Top Epidemiologist Slams Swine Flu Fearmongering

‘The whole industry is waiting for a pandemic’

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Tuesday, July 21, 2009

A top epidemiologist has slammed the “dangerous fearmongering” behind the swine flu scare and dismissed it as nothing more than the product of an industry licking its lips at the prospect of a profitable pandemic.

In an interview with German news outlet Spiegel Online, epidemiologist Tom Jefferson chastised doomsday predictions about pandemics that seem to arrive almost every year now.

“One of the extraordinary features of this influenza — and the whole influenza saga — is that there are some people who make predictions year after year, and they get worse and worse. None of them so far have come about, and these people are still there making these predictions. For example, what happened with the bird flu, which was supposed to kill us all? Nothing. But that doesn’t stop these people from always making their predictions. Sometimes you get the feeling that there is a whole industry almost waiting for a pandemic to occur,” said Jefferson.

Jefferson states that pharmaceutical companies have built a machine around the impending pandemic and are already cashing in.

“And there’s a lot of money involved, and influence, and careers, and entire institutions! And all it took was one of these influenza viruses to mutate to start the machine grinding,” he adds.

Indeed, government proclamations about the inevitability of swine flu returning as a more potent threat this fall have helped fuel massive profits for pharmaceutical companies who are “reaping billions of dollars in extra revenue amid global concern about the spread of swine flu,” according to a Financial Times report.

“Analysts expect to see a boost in sales from GlaxoSmithKline, Roche and Sanofi-Aventis when the companies report first-half earnings lifted by government contracts for flu vaccines and antiviral medicines,” states the article.

Jefferson points out that the swine flu could have gone largely unnoticed had it not been so strongly branded by the “machine” that profits from hyping it into something that we should all be afraid of.

“Don’t you think there’s something noteworthy about the fact that the WHO has changed its definition of pandemic?” asks Jefferson. “The old definition was a new virus, which went around quickly, for which you didn’t have immunity, and which created a high morbidity and mortality rate. Now the last two have been dropped, and that’s how swine flu has been categorized as a pandemic.”

Jefferson highlights the fact that there are hundreds of viruses circulating, some of which are potentially deadly, that produce the same symptoms as influenza, such as rhinoviruses and RSV, which the public knows virtually nothing about because they haven’t had the same “machine” behind them as swine flu.

Why haven’t such viruses received anything like the attention given to swine flu? “It’s easy: They can’t make money with it,” says Jefferson. “With rhinoviruses, RSV and the majority of the other viruses, it’s hard to make a lot of money or a career out of it. Against influenza, though, there are vaccines, and there are drugs you can sell. And that’s where the big money from the pharmaceuticals industry is. It makes sure that research on influenza is published in the good journals. And that’s why you have more attention being paid there, and the entire research field becomes interesting for ambitious scientists.”

Jefferson also discussed why seasonal influenza vaccines were all but useless, because flu viruses mutate while the very vaccine to combat them is still in production, making the shot mostly ineffectual when actually administered, not to mention potential side-effects.

“The importance of influenza is completely overestimated. It has to do with research funds, power, influence and scientific reputations,” said Jefferson, adding that drugs like Tamiflu have also been linked with “psychotic reactions similar to those found in schizophrenics.”

Farmed fish could melt your brain into prion goo?

Dear NaturalNews readers,

It sounds like a sci-fi horror movie: Farmed fish could turn your brain into goo! But there’s a scientific basis for this concern: It turns out that farmed fish are fed ground-up animal byproducts that could contain prions — the "folded proteins" that cause mad cow disease. Scientists are now concerned that these farmed fish could become prion carriers, and that people eating them could end up having their brains turned to goo (to use a non-technical term).

Farmed Fish Could Give Humans Mad Cow Disease

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 by: S. L. Baker

(NaturalNews) There is probably no illness that has more terrifying symptoms, or a more ghastly outcome, than variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) — best known as mad cow disease. Abnormal proteins called prions found in brain tissue of cows suffering from bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) can cause vCJD in humans who eat meat from the animals. These mad cow disease-causing prions can literally result in people losing their minds because the infectious particles eat away at the brain, leaving tiny sponge-like holes. There is no treatment available and death always follows.

With government regulations notoriously lax when it comes to testing for BSE in the food supply, many people have given up eating beef in hopes of protecting themselves from exposure to mad cow disease. But an article just published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease suggests there may be another ticking time bomb source of vCJD — farmed fish.

In a paper entitled Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy and Aquaculture, University of Kentucky neurologist Robert P. Friedland and colleagues point out that fish consumption is widely recommended because omega-3 fatty acids are known to reduce the risks of cardiovascular and Alzheimer’s diseases. However, the scientists have doubts that the health benefits of farmed fish outweigh a potentially deadly danger. "We are concerned that consumption of farmed fish may provide a means of transmission of infectious prions from cows with bovine spongiform encephalopathy to humans, causing variant Creutzfeldt Jakob disease," they stated.
Dr. Friedland and his team point out that farmed fish are fed byproducts rendered from cows — a totally unnatural source of food for fish. The risk of transmission of mad cow disease to humans who eat farmed fish would seem to be slim because there are often barriers between species that help prevent infections. But, according to the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease article, there are several reasons to be concerned about fish spreading mad cow to humans.

First, fish could be carriers of the disease from eating infected meat products, even though the fish themselves are not obviously infected or sick. In addition, it is possible that eating prion-infected cow parts could result in fish experiencing pathological changes that permit the prion infection to be transmitted between the two species. Based on these worrisome possibilities, the scientists are calling for government regulators to ban feeding cow meat or bone meal to fish until this common practice can be shown to be safe.

"We have not proven that it’s possible for fish to transmit the disease to humans. Still, we believe that out of reasonable caution for public health, the practice of feeding rendered cows to fish should be prohibited. Fish do very well in the seas without eating cows," Friedland said in an interview with the Kentucky Post newspaper.

"The fact that no cases of Creutzfeldt Jakob disease have been linked to eating farmed fish does not assure that feeding rendered cow parts to fish is safe. The incubation period of these diseases may last for decades, which makes the association between feeding practices and infection difficult. Enhanced safeguards need to be put in place to protect the public," Friedland stated…

Gardasil’s Grim Death Toll is on the Rise

By Jenny Thompson on 07/13/2009

Sometimes I wonder, who is the girl who will be the last recorded death linked to the HPV vaccine Gardasil?

She’s out there somewhere. She might be a happy child, enjoying her summer, looking forward to starting the first grade in a couple of months – still several years away from receiving her Gardasil vaccine. Or she might be a newborn, bringing enormous joy to her proud parents.

She’s out there, alive and well for the moment, and it couldn’t be more heartbreaking.

After watching my video about the dangers of Gardasil, I received an e-mail from an HSI member named Tosca, who’s affiliated with the Renew-You Centre for Wellbeing and Longevity in Australia.

Tosca writes: “I would like to pass on the word re Gardasil to our patients. Can you let me know your sources for the statement that 32 girls have died?”

The source for all reported adverse effects linked to Gardasil is the FDA’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). But unfortunately, 32 is no longer the total number of deaths associated with Gardasil. According VAERS, that number has climbed to 47.

And while the death of 47 young girls is the worst of it, there’s plenty more to dislike about this very dangerous vaccine.

Easy to spot where this trend is going

Gardasil launched in 2006, and by the end of 2007 there were 19 deaths linked to the vaccine. In 2008, 28 additional deaths were reported. And I think we can safely predict that number will rise again in 2009.

Which begs the question: How many deaths will the FDA require before this vaccine is removed from market? It’s going to happen. I have no doubt. Gardasil will eventually join Vioxx and other drugs that have been linked to death after death after death until the numbers couldn’t be ignored.

But between now and then, many young girls will die, while other girls will suffer harsh and debilitating adverse side effects.

Some of these VAERS cases are chronicled in a recent press release issued by Judicial Watch. They include one girl who required a wheel chair to get around after receiving her second of three Gardasil doses. She also experienced migraines, swelling of her face, and was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome and peripheral neuropathy. She’s been hospitalized two times.

Another girl, age 19, experienced fatigue, muscle pain, tremor, dizziness, nausea, convulsions, seizures, and loss of consciousness. Other girls have developed genital warts after their vaccinations. In some of these cases, warts also developed on faces, hands and feet.

Descriptions of side effects like these go on and on. According to the latest VAERS records, more than 13,700 adverse event reports in the U.S. have now been linked to Gardasil. Given the severity of many of these events, it’s hard to say what’s worse: 47 deaths, or hundreds, perhaps thousands of girls suffering daily.

How long, FDA, before you shut this monstrosity down?

You can find my Gardasil video at this link. And I hope you’ll share it with friends and family. Until the FDA decides to protect our girls, we’ll have to do the job ourselves.

Swine flu vaccine to be cleared after five-day trial???

From The Sunday Times  July 12, 2009

The path of a popular medicine from the laboratory to the chemist or doctor’s surgery can involve years of clinical trials on a select group of patients.

When the new vaccine for swine flu arrives in Britain, regulators said this weekend, it could be approved for use in just five days.

Regulators at the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) said the fast-tracked procedure has involved clinical trials of a “mock-up” vaccine similar to the one that will be used for the biggest mass vaccination programme in generations. It will be introduced into the general population while regulators continue to carry out simultaneous clinical trials.

The first patients in the queue for the jab – being supplied to the UK by GSK and Baxter Healthcare – may understandably be a little nervous at any possible side effects. A mass vaccination campaign against swine flu in America was halted in the 1970s after some people suffered Guillain-Barré syndrome, a disorder of the nervous system.

However, regulators said fast-tracking would not be at the expense of patient safety. “The vaccines are authorised with a detailed risk management plan,” the EMEA said. “There is quite a body of evidence regarding safety on the trials of the mock-up, and the actual vaccine could be assessed in five days.”

The UK government has ordered enough vaccine to cover the entire population. GPs are being told to prepare for a nationwide vaccination campaign…

(I trust the Government and pharmaceutical company are prepared to be sued if potentially serious side-effects appear and hope the media publicise them as they do the number of cases of swine flu!!)

PITT STUDY: ‘Accidental’ release blamed in swine flu outbreak

By Allison M. Heinrichs  TRIBUNE-REVIEW  Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Sick pigs at the 1918 Cedar Rapids Swine Show in Iowa and scientists’ accidental release of an "extinct" flu virus in 1977 played key roles in creating a strain that has swept the globe and sparked fear of a more deadly flu season this winter.

University of Pittsburgh infectious disease experts reviewed nearly a century of epidemiology reports to trace the origins of swine flu, the H1N1 virus, that emerged in Mexico this spring. It has sickened at least 27,000 people and killed more than 100 in the United States.

"Our review is the perfect combination of history, public health, science and politics, really," said Dr. Shanta Zimmer, an assistant professor at Pitt’s School of Medicine and lead author of the research paper, which will be published in the July 16 issue of New England Journal of Medicine.

"Hopefully during this pandemic, global scientists and public health communities will work together and everybody will communicate openly," she said. "Just like in politics, we learn from what works and what doesn’t in medicine."

Her paper, co-authored by Dr. Don Burke, dean of Pitt’s Graduate School of Public Health, gives clues as to why this strain of swine flu predominantly infects children and young adults, while older people seem to have immunity.

In 1918, while a flu virus from birds was infecting humans with deadly results, that same virus infected pigs. For nearly the next 40 years, the virus evolved, sporadically infecting humans. Then, in 1957, the virus vanished when another virus emerged, outcompeting it.

As abruptly as it disappeared, the original virus emerged again to infect people in the former Soviet Union, Hong Kong and northeastern China in 1977.

Since the virus had not evolved since 1950 — which is unusual — and because scientists were examining swine flu viruses in light of a small, confined outbreak in Fort Dix, N.J., the previous year, Zimmer believes the infection was caused by an accidental release of a frozen sample preserved for study.

"It was literally frozen in time," she said.

Since then, the virus has continued to circulate with other influenza viruses during flu seasons.

Flu viruses also were evolving in pigs, combining and mutating to become more genetically complex. Occasionally, those viruses would infect people who worked with pigs, but they lacked the ability to spread from human-to-human.

The swine flu virus infecting people has traits of those viruses from pigs, as well as from the 1918 virus that died out in 1957 and re-emerged in 1977.

Because people older than 52 likely would have been sickened with the human strain before it disappeared in 1957, they appear to have some immunity.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average age of swine flu victims is 12; the average age of hospitalized patients is 20; and of those who died, 37.

Earlier this month, the Allegheny County Health Department stopped testing every likely case of swine flu, instead concentrating on select groups of concern. Before it stopped testing, nobody older than 55 tested positive for swine flu, and 71 percent were 18 or younger…

(Is it accidental gross negligence or deliberate?)

Irradiated Food Causes Brain Damage

By Dr. Joseph Mercola on 07/02/2009

The researchers behind a startling finding that cats fed irradiated food developed “severe neurological disease” only reported it as an afterthought. They instead chose to focus on the fact that the cats were able to recover from the disease after their diet returned to normal — a testament to the healing powers of your body, yes, but completely overlooking what caused the damage in the first place.

After being fed a diet of irradiated foods, the cats developed “mysterious” and “remarkable” severe neurological dysfunction, including movement disorders, vision loss and paralysis.

When they were taken off the irradiated foods, they slowly recovered.

I was born and raised in Chicago and we have a term for this type of observation in our city — it is called a CLUE!

This should be raising major red flags that irradiation is NOT as safe as food safety officials would have you believe, but then the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already turned a blind eye on decades’ worth of alarming data on food irradiation.

Irradiation is used to kill organisms like E. coli and salmonella on food. Currently, U.S. food processors are allowed to irradiate beef, eggs, poultry, oysters, fresh spinach, iceberg lettuce and spices.

The FDA maintains that irradiated foods are no different from non-irradiated foods, but the research begs to differ.

Alarming Research About Food Irradiation

The following is a sampling of research — appearing in scientific journals and other publications — that raise questions about the FDA’s assertions that people who eat irradiated food have nothing to worry about.

• An FDA report from 1968 found significant adverse effects produced in animals fed irradiated food, including:

  • o A decrease of 21 percent in surviving weaned rats
  • o A 32 percent decrease in surviving progeny of dogs
  • o Dogs weighing 11 percent less than animals on the control diets
  • o Carcinomas of the pituitary gland, a particularly disturbing finding since this is an extremely rare type of malignant tumor

• A 1959 study in the Journal of Nutrition found that “a significant number of rats consuming irradiated beef died from internal hemorrhage within 46 days.”

• In 1981, a study in Mutation Research found that “freshly irradiated diets produced elevated levels of early deaths in [mice fetuses]… The increase in early deaths would suggest that the diet when irradiated has some mutagenic potential."

• In 1969, a study in Radiation Research found “considerable amounts of radioactivity were present in the liver, kidney, stomach, gastrointestinal tract, and blood serum of rats fed irradiated sucrose solutions. Radioactivity was present in urine and feces samples.”

• In 2000, a study in Food Irradiation concluded that "an increase in concentration of a mutagen in food by irradiation will increase the incidence of cancer. It will take four to six decades to demonstrate a statistically significant increase in cancer due to mutagens introduced into food by irradiation. When food irradiation is finally prohibited, several decades worth of people with increased cancer incidence will be in the pipeline."

These findings are not all that surprising when you consider what, exactly, irradiation is. According to the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), here is the definition:

“Bombardment of a food by ionizing radiation: “gamma rays” from nuclear material, x-rays or high-speed electrons from electronic guns. They are used to kill bacteria in the food. Electrons are knocked off molecules and ricochet around in the food.

They break up cell walls, slice and dice chromosomes, kill enzymes, and create free radicals (oxygen atoms missing an electron).

These free radicals recombine to form stable compounds, or continue their destructive path.

Some of the compounds created are known to be cancer-causing (formaldehyde, benzene, lipid peroxides). Others have never been seen or studied before.”

Irradiation also destroys vitamins, disrupts the chemical composition of food, and causes similar changes as cooking, meaning that your fresh irradiated spinach may not contain all the beneficial properties that raw spinach naturally contains.

Who Does Irradiation Benefit?

Food safety officials like to pass irradiation off as the latest technology in food safety, and a way to keep dangerous organisms off of your food. In reality, what it does is give agribusiness the green light to grow and process their food in filthy conditions.

After all, they’re going to nuke everything later anyway, so why go to the trouble of actually growing your food in sanitary conditions to begin with? Irradiation is essentially a very effective medium for masking filthy conditions in slaughterhouses and food processing plants.

The solution to creating healthier, safer foods lies in cleaning up the growing conditions and processing plants, and most certainly in returning farming to a small-scale basis — not in dousing our food with varying levels of radiation.

How to Avoid Irradiated Food

Fortunately, the FDA currently requires that irradiated foods include labeling with the statement "treated with radiation" or "treated by irradiation" and the international symbol for irradiation, the radura.

That might change in the future, but for now avoid all foods that contain these labels.

You can also avoid irradiation by choosing locally grown, organic foods as much as possible. Certified organic foods may not be irradiated, and foods from a small, local farm are unlikely to be either.

Getting to know a farmer near you (or joining a food coop with access to one) is one of the simplest ways to know how your food is grown and whether or not it’s irradiated.
